Ben Carter

Ben Carter is a commercial + documentary director and writer from North Carolina. His love for cars began as a child when his dad scored pit passes to a NASCAR Winston Cup race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. That day sparked a lifelong curiosity about cars and the people connected to them...and things were never the same again.

After spending his twenties touring the country and recording music with his band, Ben discovered a new creative passion through photography, thanks to a close friend. Early in his filmmaking career, he wore many hats—writer, cinematographer, editor, colorist, and post sound mixer—giving him a deep understanding of every stage of production, from concept development to final delivery, and what it takes to meet the needs of clients and agencies alike.

Today, Ben directs and writes commercials and brand campaigns for clients like Toyota, RAM Trucks, Lexus, Chrysler, Harley-Davidson, and General Tire.

Outside of filmmaking, he’s a decent photographer, a mediocre cook, a below-average cyclist, and, hopefully, a pretty great husband to Erica and dog dad to Linda, their rat terrier.
